Professional Development at Emanuel Centro Educativo (ECE) During our recent visit to Emanuel Centro Educativo (ECE), we focused on strengthening instructional practices through innovative strategies and data-informed decision-making. The session centered around the Flipped Classroom model, guiding teachers on how to structure lessons from the diagnostic phase to implementation. Educators explored their role as facilitators and instructional analysts, designing learning experiences where students take greater ownership of their learning. Teachers also engaged with Gimkit, discovering how interactive, game-based strategies can reinforce content while increasing participation and motivation in the classroom. In addition, we reviewed how to interpret MAP testing reports, helping teachers analyze student growth, understand performance trends, and make informed instructional decisions. Understanding the data behind student progress empowers educators to adjust strategies and better support learning outcomes. The collaborative group activity allowed teachers to apply the flipped classroom strategy in real time, working through planning, assessment, and facilitation scenarios. The session was productive, reflective, and forward-thinking. We also introduced the Flipped Classroom Matrix, guiding teachers on how to intentionally structure their lessons by moving direct instruction outside the classroom and using class time for application, collaboration, and deeper thinking. Through this framework, teachers explored how to design learning experiences where students take a more active role—engaging in discussions, problem-solving, and meaningful tasks—while the teacher shifts into the role of facilitator and instructional guide. Today we concluded an important professional development cycle at Francisco Felicié Martínez School in Vega Alta, one of the schools participating in the Tech My School program in collaboration with the Puerto Rico Department of Education. Throughout this school year, our work with the faculty has focused on strengthening intentional technology integration, supporting teachers with practical strategies for innovative instruction, differentiated learning, and the thoughtful use of digital tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. For this final session, we explored the Flipped Classroom model, examining how teachers can redesign learning experiences where students interact with content in new ways and classroom time becomes an opportunity for deeper discussion, collaboration, and active learning. Teachers also experimented with AI-supported tools and blended digital resources to design lesson activities aligned with this instructional approach. One of the highlights of the session was hearing from the school’s Flock Leader, who shared her own flipped learning design and reflected on how these strategies can be adapted to meet the needs of her students and classroom context. Her contribution demonstrated the kind of leadership and innovation that continues to grow within the school community. As we close this cycle of professional development for the school year, we are deeply grateful for the collaboration, openness, and commitment of the teachers and leadership at Francisco Felicié Martínez School. Their willingness to explore new ideas and instructional practices continues to move teaching and learning forward. Today we spent a meaningful Integration Day at Robertson Private School in Fajardo, a valued member of the Tech My School family of partner schools. As part of our ongoing collaboration, the Tech My School team worked alongside teachers through classroom observations and instructional conversations focused on strengthening practical and effective technology integration. These visits allow us to better understand classroom dynamics, celebrate what teachers are already doing well, and provide targeted strategies that help technology become a natural and purposeful part of instruction. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to our students with a fun and engaging Code & Play experience. Students explored hands-on learning with Osmo, an interactive system that combines physical manipulatives with digital gameplay, allowing students to solve challenges using real objects while the tablet responds in real time. This approach bridges tactile exploration with digital thinking, helping students build creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Students also interacted with Dash, a programmable robot that introduces coding concepts through movement, sequencing, and playful experimentation. Through these activities, students begin developing the foundations of computational thinking, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Days like this highlight the power of combining teacher support and student innovation to build future-ready learning environments. 🎓✨ Professional Development at Robertson’s Private School (Fajardo, PR) Today, Tech My School had the pleasure of leading another high-impact training at Robertson’s Private School alongside Flock Leader Ariana Colón, equipping teachers with practical strategies and powerful tools to strengthen student-centered learning and data-driven instruction. During the session, teachers were introduced to Gimkit, an interactive platform that turns review and formative assessment into a highly engaging learning experience. We explored how game-based learning can increase participation, motivation, and real-time checks for understanding. We also worked on the concept of the Flipped Classroom - a teaching strategy that was new to many of the educators present. By shifting direct instruction outside of class and using classroom time for discussion, application, and deeper thinking, the flipped model helps move learning toward a more active, student-centered approach where teachers facilitate and students engage more meaningfully with content. We closed the training with a review of the Tech Report, a unique tool used by Tech My School to help educators reflect on their instructional practices and make stronger decisions through data. By comparing EdTech vs. TechEd, teachers can better evaluate whether technology is truly enhancing learning, or simply being used without impact. This process supports more intentional planning, stronger instructional design, and more meaningful classroom outcomes. Today we had the opportunity to celebrate a meaningful Integration Day at Francisco Felicié Martínez School in Vega Alta, one of the public schools proudly supported by Tech My School as part of our growing family of partner schools. Throughout this school year, our team has worked closely with the faculty to strengthen intentional technology integration by providing classroom coaching, instructional strategies, guidance on the effective use of digital tools, and technical support to help teachers feel confident implementing technology in their daily instruction. During today’s visit, we continued supporting educators through coaching conversations, classroom observations, and collaborative reflection focused on how technology can enhance learning experiences and support student engagement in meaningful ways. Students also participated in an exciting Code & Play experience using KaiBot, where they engaged in hands-on computational thinking challenges. Through progressively complex tasks, students analyzed problems, designed solutions, and executed their ideas through analog coding activities. This playful and interactive approach helps students develop essential skills such as logic, problem-solving, sequencing, and collaboration, while discovering that coding can be both accessible and fun. As we close this cycle of coaching and technology integration support, we celebrate the dedication of the teachers and the enthusiasm of the students. She expressed excitement about implementing these interactive tools in her classroom to increase student engagement and participation. 📊Individualized Technology Analysis at Higher Education Academy — Manatí, PR Today, the Tech My School team traveled to Manatí to conduct an Individualized Technology Analysis at Higher Education Academy — the first step in helping a school modernize with purpose, strategy, and long-term impact. Using Tech Plan Genie, our team facilitated a deep, structured self-study with a school-based stakeholder group that included administrators and teachers from multiple divisions. Together, they examined three essential pillars of school transformation: • Educational Systems • Capacity of Educators • Student Empowerment This process is much more than an assessment. It is a powerful form of professional development in itself — giving school leaders and teachers the opportunity to reflect, identify gaps, align priorities, and better understand what meaningful technology integration should look like across their campus. From this analysis, Tech My School will build an Individualized Technology Plan — a strategic roadmap tailored to the school’s real needs, with clear next steps for instructional growth, stronger systems, teacher support, and student-centered innovation. And this is only the beginning. This service was provided free of charge, and we will be returning this year to support the school with full-staff professional development and free after-school coding and robotics experiences for students. Professional Development at VPA – Visual & Performing Arts Christian School We recently had the opportunity to lead a meaningful Professional Development session at VPA – Visual & Performing Arts Christian School, focused on strengthening instructional practices and empowering teachers with strategies to elevate learning in the classroom. During the workshop, we explored instructional strategies that support deeper student engagement and active participation. Teachers discussed how thoughtful lesson design can create learning environments where students take a more active role in their own learning journey. We also introduced the SAMR Model, highlighting how technology integration can move from simple substitution to true transformation in the classroom. By understanding this framework, educators can intentionally design lessons that move beyond basic technology use and toward more meaningful and innovative learning experiences. The session also connected with the ISTE Standards, emphasizing the importance of developing students as Empowered Learners and Knowledge Constructors—students who can explore, analyze, and create knowledge using digital tools in responsible and meaningful ways. To close the workshop, teachers participated in a collaborative activity using Canva for Education, where they worked together as learners to design a project and experience how collaboration, creativity, and digital tools can enhance classroom instruction. The session was dynamic, reflective, and engaging.
