MYWhen I woke up this morning I sobbed. I sobbed for the people who died dreaming of this day, for the diaspora who can’t wait to go back home, and for the people currently living under oppression who will now be free!
After the gut sobbing, I went to call everyone I know..and I wanted to document my reaction for myself for this historic day.
Then I went on social media and saw posts anti the US helping. This is a bunch of noise and they are propaganda influenced. Don’t be swayed.
So as an actual Iranian American who has lived under the former Islamic Regime I thought it was important to add my two cents to the stream. So that my friends who are anti this war will maybe think twice before adding to the stream when they have never lived in oppression under a dictatorship that executes at will…
This war is like chemotherapy for an aggressive cancer in order to cure the cancer and save the person/country. Chemo wreaks havoc on the body and kills good cells too but it’s the only way to eradicate the disease.
People living in Iran are cheering even though there is great risk.. people in Israel are supporting this even though there will be retaliation.
Thank you to the soldiers who are risking their lives for Iran’s freedom.
I don’t believe any news coming from the regime itself. I hope I don’t regret this post but as of this morning.. this is how I feel.
Sending prayers and hope that only the regime will be affected and that all the innocent people stay safe.
