From The Arena Session 2 Every time you’re thinking about external factors, you know you’re not in flow. When you actually move into flow, all those factors still exist. See, flow does not need a perfect environment to exist. In fact, flow needs to exist because you’re not in a perfect environment. When you have the self perception that I can be extraordinary, I can achieve my highest level of performance as long as the environment is perfectly suited for me. You’re going to be like a slave to your environment all your life. You have to realize that the reason you need to achieve a flow state is because the environments are rarely conducive toward bringing your best.
