BYI didn’t expect for this to happen 😅
The other day I shared a video about how I was scammed by a man with his daughter in Fez, Morocco as I really thought he was being genuinely hospitable and it got a lot of attention and received divided opinions. One of the attention’s it caught was that of the local authorities.
The matter is still ongoing as the news about the arr3st just came out a few days ago. The latest update I got is
he was facing the public pr0secution.
I didn’t report myself at the time cause I didn’t think I needed to and I was leaving the next morning but it’s so important to report otherwise how will the p0lice know and take action? If the scammers don’t face consequences and keep getting away with it, it’ll never end and more tourists will fall victims.
I was also told that a victim’s statement is a key piece evidence so it’s important to report if you encounter something similar.
That’s all the information I have so far but I’m impressed by how the authorities swiftly took action as this man has been doing the same scam for years (based on followers who recognised him and also scammed a few years ago) and has gotten away with it since but hopefully this will put a stop to it and discourage other scammers too.
