1. The Soviet Union - In a 1982 interview, Netanyahu stated that if the USSR disappeared, “international terrorism” would disappear with it. The USSR collapsed ten years later.
2. Palestine - In the same interview, Netanyahu described the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) as a proxy of the Soviet Union. He continues to challenge the very existence of Palestine, including with US support.
3. Czechoslovakia — Disintegrated in 1993.
4. East Germany — Became part of West Germany in 1990.
5. Cuba - Still exists and is widely described as a failed state after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
6. Iraq — Netanyahu repeatedly called for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, promising “positive reverberations in the region.” Hussein was removed from power during the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.
7. Iran — Netanyahu’s most uncompromising regional rival. A US military intervention is expected in the coming hours or days.
8. Libya — Netanyahu portrayed Libya as a threat to Western civilization, claiming it was developing nuclear weapons alongside Iraq and Iran. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011 following NATO intervention.
9. Venezuela - Netanyahu labeled Nicolas Maduro an ally of Iran. The country’s leader has been captured and flown out of Venezuela after the US carried out a large scale strike - several days ago.

MOAbigail Spanberger, a centrist Democrat, won Virginia’s race for governor Tuesday — defeating Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears and becoming the first woman ever to lead the commonwealth. She will succeed outgoing Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R).
“Throughout my entire career, I have worked with anyone and everyone, regardless of political party,” she said Tuesday evening. “I know in my heart that we can unite for Virginia’s future, and we can set an example for the rest of the nation.”
The election night was a big one for Democrats with Spanberger and New Jersey’s Mikie Sherrill notching victories.
Spanberger and Sherrill both served in the US Congress and ran on platforms focused on economic growth, affordability, and opposing Trump.
Virginia is home to more than 300,000 federal workers, many directly impacted by the ongoing government shutdown and the Trump administration’s efforts to shrink the federal workforce.
