Most students think college applications start senior year That’s why they panic when deadlines hit 😥 Getting into your dream school is really about building grades, activities, and a clear story years before you submit anything. By the time senior year comes around, your narrative should be obvious 📖🌟 #ultimateivyleagueguide #uilg #ultimatementor

How I got into EVERY Ivy League ⬇️ I didn’t have perfect stats. I didn’t have impressive awards. I didn’t have money or family connections. But I still got into every Ivy League because of something most students never learn early enough: the Narrative Method. The Narrative Method is how you build a clear identity through your classes, activities, and personal growth — so colleges don’t just see what you did, they understand who you are and why admitting you is a low-risk, high-impact decision. If you’re an underclassman, save this because this is how to build your Narrative: 1️⃣ Choose one value-based theme that explains what you naturally gravitate toward (curiosity, resilience, service, innovation, problem-solving). This becomes the lens for choosing future courses and extracurriculars. 2️⃣ Identify the 3-5 core experiences that actually shape you. These become your anchor stories later. 3️⃣ Make your choices match your theme. Your electives, clubs, summer programs, and projects should feel connected to the kind of person you’re becoming. 4️⃣ Show growth in your application. Include the moments where something challenged you, changed your thinking, or forced you to grow. 5️⃣ Align everything over time. Your classes, activities list, essays, and recommendations should all reinforce one version of you — not five different ones. This is the method that changed everything for me… and it will matter even more if you start now. 📕 Comment THEME and I’ll send you the step-by-step guide on how to build this for your exact situation #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UILG #UltimateMentor

Rating popular extracurriculars 🌟👇 This is based on years of direct conversations with admissions officers, thousands of real application files I’ve analyzed, and repeated patterns I’ve seen while helping students earn spots at top universities. After working with high-achieving applicants across competitive cycles, certain activities consistently rise to the top…and others consistently fall flat. If you want to choose strategically instead of randomly, understanding what colleges look for is the first step. You can increase the “rating” of your extracurriculars by focusing on impact and leadership. For example, turning a generic volunteering role to a service-based project is regarded highly! They called out @ultimateivyleagueguide for ALL THE WRONG REASONS🤦‍♂️ Look, last December when she made up that rumor about @commonapp checking for AI in college essays and rescinding applications, I called it out too - but as far as I can tell, that’s the only “big” mistake she made. Most of that hatchet job of an article is just some random opinion writer claiming that the only people who should be giving advice about college admissions, are people who worked in an admissions office - and that’s the biggest pile of 💩 I ever heard. Most Ivy League admissions officers could NEVER survive their OWN admissions process. They don’t have the talent, they don’t have the skill. Moreover, they don’t even have any kind of special knowledge - all the details about exactly how admissions work are on public record in sworn testimony in SFFA v. Harvard. Anyone can Google it and see how many ways college admissions officers lie to your face when they’re not under oath. So if you’re looking for REAL advice on college admissions you want 3 things: 1) someone who did it themselves so you know that they’ve been your shoes 2) someone who has shown that they have replicated their advice for others 3) evidence of having grown a large platform on social media because if they can’t market themselves, they certainly can’t market you. That’s it. That article is total BS.

One of the most COMMON mistakes that gets students rejected from their dream college is not knowing how to answer school-specific interview questions ⬇️ Here’s how each answer differs: ❌Rejected Student: Nothing here explains why NYU specifically, why this student, or how NYC connects to their lived experiences or goals. Admissions can swap “NYU” with 50 other schools and lose nothing. ⚠️Waitlisted student: This shows awareness of NYU’s setting, but the motivation stays abstract. “Internships,” “real-world experiences,” and “interdisciplinary” are signals of interest, but NYU still doesn’t know who this student is or what they’ll actually do. ✅ Accepted student: This answer connects past → present → future: • Past: a concrete, personal experience tied to NYU • Present: a clear academic direction aligned with NYU • Future: a specific way the student intends to engage with the school’s environment When you answer school-specific interview questions, don’t explain why the school is impressive…explain why your story would unfold differently there than anywhere else. 📕Comment INTERVIEW and I’ll send you my full guide to crafting standout responses to get into your dream school! #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG

How you answer “Why do you want to attend XYZ school?” can make the difference between an acceptance, waitlist, or rejection ⬇️ Here’s how each answer differs: ❌ Rejected: This answer could literally apply to any top school. It’s vague, interchangeable, and focuses only on what the student wants to receive, not what they’ve already built or hope to contribute. ⚠️ Waitlisted: This one has good intentions but stays broad. It mentions interdisciplinary learning and impact, but it doesn’t anchor those ideas in the student’s lived experiences or name anything uniquely Stanford. ✅ Accepted: This answer is specific, impact-driven, and future-oriented. It names a real Stanford resource (the Sustainability Accelerator), ties it to the student’s past work, and shows how Stanford directly enables their long-term mission. It reads like someone who understands exactly why Stanford is the right fit, and what they’ll contribute back. When answering school-specific questions, the best thing you can do is connect the school to something you’ve already done, and highlight how a real opportunity directly accelerates the impact you’re trying to make — especially in your own community. 📕Comment ESSAY and I’ll send you my full guide to crafting standout responses to get into your dream school! #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG

Rating AP Classes 🤓📚 This is based off of general rigor/difficulty of the courses (and partially my own personal experience). Of course, this varies depending on how each school approaches delivering the curriculum! Here’s what this means for you ⬇️ There’s now 100,000+ apps to schools that used to feel “reachable.” When application numbers explode like this, colleges don’t magically read more carefully. They filter faster. They rely more on defensible signals. And they take fewer risks on applicants who look like everyone else. If you’re currently in grades 7-11, here’s what you need to remember: You don’t need to be better than everyone. You need to be clearer, earlier, and more strategic. What makes you stand out in 2026 isn’t doing more clubs, writing a “beautiful” essay, or hoping holistic review saves you. It’s understanding how admissions is changing right now and positioning yourself before everyone else catches on. I put everything schools won’t say publicly (but are already acting on) into a guide breaking down how to adapt for the 2026 cycle and beyond — from testing strategy to essays to how colleges are filtering applicants behind the scenes Comment 2026 and I’ll send it to you 🏆 #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UILG #UltimateMentor

The Ladder Me

@ultimateivyleagueguide
Most high schoolers never get research opportunities because they email one professor, get ignored, and assume they’re “not qualified.” The Ladder Method has been proven to completely change that for THOUSANDS of high school students. Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Start at the bottom of the ladder. Begin with grad students, postdocs, or research assistants. They reply far more often because they aren’t flooded with undergrad requests, and they’re the ones actually running the day-to-day experiments. 2️⃣ Move one rung up. Once a grad student replies, ask whether their PI (the professor) takes high school students or if they’d recommend someone in the department. You’re using their credibility to get upstream access. 3️⃣ Climb to the top. Now email the professor referencing the name of the person who directed you to them. This single line boosts your response rate more than anything else because no professor ignores someone vetted by their own team. 4️⃣ Close with a tiny ask. Don’t ask for a job. Ask for one 10-minute call to learn about their work. Come to the call with questions to show genuine curiosity, and pitch at the end. This steps is what maximizes chances at lab positions, research program nominations, and summer opportunities. Students who use this method stop competing for “posted internships” and start getting opportunities through direct mentorship, which is how most real research pathways work. If you want my full cold email templates, including the exact scripts my students use to get into labs, competitive research programs, and professor-recommended opportunities… Comment “EMAIL” and I’ll send them to you ✅ #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UILG #UltimateMentor
