THWe were up all night with a brand-new baby.
The kind of night where the minutes blur together and sleep feels like a distant memory.
Morning came with two cooped up kids, no energy, and that familiar postpartum dread — the silent nod between my husband and I that says: we love each other, we got this, but today is going to be rough.
And then we opened the curtains. ❄️
The city was covered in pillowy, thick snow. Like it knew we needed something special today.
We ran to tell the kids to look outside.
Eyes wide. Screams. Pajamas abandoned.
Layers thrown on over sleepy bodies.
Snow angels.
A snowman.
A snowball fight.
Cold fingers and pink cheeks.
Then warm waffles at the weekly market.
And a big bouquet for mama from my favorite flower stall.
Our kids have almost no memories of ever seeing real snow.
And today, on no sleep, in the very sleepy haze of early postpartum, Delft took a rough night and gave us this.
It was exactly what we needed. ❄️

DIIt’s snowing in the Netherlands!❄️
It’s quite rare, it has been a while since it has snowed here and the last time there wasn’t as much snow as now.
Is it snowing in your town/country as well?
These shots were taken in the beautiful historical city centre of Delft, a place you have to visit in NL🇳🇱 Its city centre is stunning. There are a few museums and sights to visit, such as Prinsenhof, Oude Kerk & Vermeer Centrum. There are also a lot of nice cafes and restaurants, such as Kek, HANNO, ‘t Postkantoor & Il Tartufo.
The only downside of the snow is that it’s difficult to get to my work in Delft now, due to chaos at public transportation🙃 Work from home it is…
