George Finch, the UK’s youngest council leader for Warwickshire, faces a vote of no confidence on Tuesday 17 March. ⁠ ⁠ Green Party councillors have called for the vote suggesting he has "abused the office of leader". He was voted in at the age of 19 in July 2025. ⁠ ⁠ Warwickshire Green Party group leader Jonathan Chilvers said the motion was over a row Finch had with the council's chief executive, Monica Fogarty, about having the pride flag up on the council building. ⁠ ⁠ Reasons given also included a dispute Finch had last year with police over their handling of a an alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl. Its Christian population consists mostly of full citizens who can vote, serve, and hold office, while Qatar officially has no Christian citizens at all. Context matters. 🙏🏾
