This type of tape is made for tricky corners where water could sneak in between wall and floor. On the outside, it has a thick but flexible aluminum layer that works like armor. It shields the adhesive underneath from UV light, weather and aging, while still bending enough to follow corners and uneven surfaces. Under that metal skin sits a white adhesive that stays permanently elastic. That means it does not turn rock hard and crack, but keeps moving with the building while bonding strongly to many different surfaces.
