ALLittle life update because a few people have asked… yes, we are still moving to Dubai!
Packing has finally started and it’s starting to feel very real. British Airways cancelled our flights, but we managed to rebook with Emirates, so hopefully everything still goes to plan.
At this point we’re just taking it one thing at a time and hoping the next two weeks run smoothly 🤞🏽
I’ll keep sharing little updates as we go because a lot of you have been asking how it’s all going.

TIKeeping it real over here, the last week has been HARD! From saying our goodbyes, to arriving at a pretty much empty house, with a two year old who has asked to go home on numerous occasions already. It’s not all sunshine and good times!
Don’t get me wrong, waking up to blue skies and knowing we’re all together is amazing, but just thought I’d share a bit of the reality of moving to another country with a small child.
I know it’s totally normal to compare everything here to what we had back and the UK, and we had it good! Amazing family and friends, beautiful house, Iris was happy in her nursery etc. it’s difficult not to have this awful sinking feeling about leaving it all behind.
However, it’s early days and I’m trying to remind myself why we did this in the first place.
If you’ve made the move to Dubai, does any of this resonate? And to anyone making the move, I hope this post doesn’t come across as negative, just honest 🙏🏻

AB1. I limit what I consume online.
2. I follow only 2–3 official UAE sources.
I check them a few times a day — that’s it.
3. I check in with neighbours and close friends here.
There is comfort in community.
4. I observe daily life. If children are still playing at the playground, something inside me relaxes.
5. I consciously practice gratitude.
Health. Safety. Stability.
6. I move my body. A walk or workout resets my nervous system.
7. I reassure family and friends abroad.
They often feel more worried watching from a distance.
8. I protect routines, especially for my child.
Kids feel everything.
9. I spend more intentional time with family.
10. And I may or may not be eating more cookies and chocolate than usual 🍪🫣
