We grew up in one of the “safest” and wealthiest countries in the world. 🇧🇪
Good jobs.
Decent salaries.
Healthcare.
Structure.
On paper, we had everything you’re supposed to want.
But in real life it felt like this:
Traffic → work → stress → quick dinner → couch → repeat.
Counting down to Fridays.
Saving all year for one week of “freedom” in the sun.
Watching more tax, more bills and less energy every year.
Belgium gave us stability…
but also grey skies, 40% tax and a lifestyle where you survive very well,
yet quietly forget what living feels like.
We don’t want to leave because Belgium is terrible.
We want to leave because this version of “normal life”
doesn’t fit the couple we’re becoming anymore.
So we started learning online skills, building income from our laptops
and creating the option to choose where and how we live.
You can love your country
and still refuse to live the same year 40 times in a row.
