It was the beginning of a historic 63-year reign. ​⚜️ Did you know? In 1840, Queen Victoria started the timeless tradition of brides wearing white at their weddings when she married her true love, Prince Albert. ​⚜️ Earned the nickname "Grandmother of Europe," she had 9 children and 42 grandchildren, whose marriages linked almost every royal house across the continent. ​⚜️ Her long and prosperous era came to an end on January 22nd, 1901. Ernesto “Che” Guevara remains one of the most recognized and debated figures in modern political history. Born in Argentina in 1928, Che Guevara originally trained as a doctor. During his travels across Latin America, he witnessed widespread poverty, inequality, and political unrest. These experiences shaped his worldview and pushed him toward revolutionary politics and Marxist ideology. Guevara later joined forces with Fidel Castro and played a key role in the Cuban Revolution, which overthrew the government of Fulgencio Batista in 1959. After the revolution, he became part of Cuba’s new leadership, helping oversee economic, diplomatic, and industrial initiatives aimed at building a socialist state. However, Guevara believed that revolutionary movements should spread internationally. He eventually left Cuba to support insurgencies abroad, first in Africa and later in Bolivia. In 1967, during a guerrilla campaign in Bolivia, he was captured and executed. The event occurred during the height of Cold War tensions and involved cooperation between Bolivian forces and U.S. intelligence. Islamic civilization began in 610 CE in Mecca when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received the first revelation. After the Hijrah to Medina in 622 CE, the foundations of the first Islamic state were established. Following his passing in 632 CE, the Rashidun Caliphate expanded Islam beyond Arabia into Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and Persia. Under the Umayyad Caliphate, the empire stretched from Spain in the west to Central Asia in the east. The succeeding Abbasid Caliphate ushered in a Golden Age centered in Baghdad, marked by major advances in science, medicine, philosophy, and literature. Later empires such as the Ottoman Empire continued this legacy across parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa. From its origin in 7th-century Arabia to its global presence in 2025, Islamic civilization has influenced world history through its faith, scholarship, culture, architecture, and governance, leaving a lasting impact on humanity. You know in history books where people of color call white people and Americans colonizers? This is exactly what they mean. This is world history repeating itself in real time as the United States asserts itself in the affairs of sovereign nations to take their resources against the will of the government and the people. This is what supporting white supremacy and the Republican Party looks like. The real question is this. What are people of color, and those who clearly understand how dangerous this path is to the safety, stability, and future of everyday American people, going to do about it when the midterms arrive? Because history shows us that silence is permission, disengagement is surrender, and the ballot is one of the few tools ordinary people still have to interrupt power. Midterms are not symbolic. They decide who writes policy, who controls budgets, who authorizes force, and whose lives are considered expendable. If history is repeating itself, then participation is not optional. He rose from poverty and exile to become one of the most influential figures in world history. His major achievements: 1. United the Mongol tribes Before Chinggis Khaan, the Mongols were divided into rival clans constantly at war. He unified them through alliances, military skill, and a system that rewarded loyalty and ability rather than family status. This was revolutionary at the time. 2. Founded the largest contiguous empire in history Under his leadership, the Mongol Empire expanded rapidly across Asia and into Eastern Europe, becoming the largest continuous land empire ever created. His descendants later expanded it even further. 3. Reformed law and governance He created a legal code known as the Yassa, which promoted order, discipline, and fairness. It outlawed practices like kidnapping women, protected religious freedom, and enforced strict rules against corruption and betrayal. 4. Advanced meritocracy Chinggis Khaan promoted people based on skill, loyalty, and intelligence, not noble birth. Former enemies could rise to high positions if they proved capable, which strengthened the empire. 5. Revolutionized warfare He transformed military strategy using speed, intelligence, psychological tactics, and coordination.
