THNearly 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. no longer has a usual source of care. That means worse health outcomes and higher costs, #AAFP CEO & EVP @rshawnm highlighted today in testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
During his testimony, he presented these six recommendations for bolstering primary care in the U.S.:
1. Double the nation’s financial investment in primary care
2. Reform the Medicare physician payment system to more appropriately value the patient care done by physicians
3. Establish regulatory frameworks that support independent physician-led models
4. Create space for physicians to focus on patients by reducing the administrative complexity of the modern medical practice
5. Remove financial barriers to primary care
6. Promote proven, evidence-based interventions, including vaccines
