If you haven’t already, do this after AIBE!
Step 1: Collecting the Enrolment Form
In order to collect the enrolment form, you are required to present either your provisional degree certificate or the final degree issued by your university.
Step 2: Form Filling & Document Collection
The enrolment form is quite detailed and requires the following:
• GPA and year-wise marksheets
• Migration certificate
• KYC documents
• Proof of stay
Since I was residing in a rented flat, the proof of stay took the longest time to arrange. For this, I had to provide:
• A copy of my signed rent agreement
• Police verification
• An attested KYC document of the flat owner
Additionally, the form must be attested by two advocates who are already enrolled and eligible to certify your fitness to join the Bar.
Step 3: Form Submission
After compiling all required documents and getting the advocate attestations, I submitted my completed form towards the end of September.
Step 4: Mandatory Bar Council Meeting
Soon after submission, I received a message informing me about a mandatory orientation/induction meeting conducted by the Bar Council which goes on for 1-2 hours and attendance is compulsory
Step 5: Collection of Provisional Enrolment Certificate
After attending the meeting, I was eligible to receive my Provisional Enrolment Certificate.
This certificate needs to be collected in person from the Bar Council office.
Step 6: Applying for the Final Certificate (Post-AIBE)
Once you clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), you are eligible to receive your Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is the final step in your enrolment.
Please note that within 6 months of clearing the AIBE, you need to upload your provisional certificate so that the “pass with undertaking” gets converted to “pass” in AIBE.
