JE“You were made for this”…
I heard this distinctly in my mind as I was mowing the lawn for my husband who was going through cancer treatments. It took me off guard, and I giggled and said out loud “ I was made to mow the lawn?” 🤣
It was a soft and quiet knowing that I was made for this experience that I was going through. God knew I was going to help my husband through his cancer journey, and then later become a widow.
He prepared me for something that I never thought I could be prepared for.
He prepared me to raise my three children alone. He prepared me to face the unthinkable. And he has prepared me to turn this life situation into something beautiful.
My late husband always had grit and a positive attitude about his diagnosis. And now I carry that on in the way that I live my life and demonstrate that to my children. This is how I honor him, and this is his legacy.
We are all built for the challenges that come our way. Not to punish us, but to create us into magnificent beings.
Without the opposition and contrast, we would never know joy and self actualization.
