I usually shoot wide open (f/1.8–f/8), so I didn’t realize for a long time that this phenomena appears at smaller apertures (f/16–f/22). If you want more photos in focus, stop defaulting to wide open ✨ Mid-range apertures (think f/2.8–f/3.2) give you more depth, more consistency, and more keepers — especially during movement prompts and poses. But your mid range apertures are dependent on your lens starting aperture. For example: My lens starts at f/2.8 so my favorite aperture is f/3.2 or f/4.0 for big groups If your lens starts at f/2.0 your favorite aperture might be f/2.5 or f/2.8 Well it might not be your favorite but it is your sharpest!! 🤪 Wide open has its place.✨ But control and consistency with focus is what makes your work feel professional and builds your confidence!! Shutter Speed Varies: Since you are in Aperture Priority mode, the camera will set this for you. However, use a tripod for longer exposures to avoid camera shake. Focus 👀 Manual Focus or Focus on Hyperfocal Distance: This ensures maximum sharpness from the foreground to the background. Alternatively, focus about one-third into the scene. Took the NiSi True Color ND-VARIO 1–5 Stops (0.3–1.5) for a real-world test at Suramadu Bridge on a fully overcast afternoon. Cloudy conditions usually make exposure control tricky, especially when shooting wider apertures and slower shutter speeds, but this filter handled it surprisingly well. Even with changing light and moving traffic, exposure stayed balanced and details stayed sharp. The colors were naturally preserved, no noticeable color shift, which is something that often shows up in many other variable NDs. I also pushed it to wider focal lengths, and there was no visible vignetting or cross-polarization throughout the range. The adjustment from 1 to 5 stops was smooth and precise. Its nano coating is waterproof and anti-reflective, which really helps when shooting outdoors near the sea. Build quality also feels solid, and the removable rotating lever is a nice practical touch. It even comes with a lens cap and pouch, which keeps it ready for run-and-gun shooting. Overall, a simple cloudy-day test turned into a pretty strong first impression. #NiSi #NiSiFilters

Simultaneous mechanical motion is found in camera apertures, foldable steamer baskets, and other delightful objects. The motion of all parts is connected through overlaps, gears, or linkages. Pull on one part and everything moves together. The unique feature of the Venn Puzzle is that it achieves this simultaneous motion without a larger constraining system. It's simply the 3 parts interacting with themselves that create this mesmerizing movement. A puzzle like this doesn't do anything. It won't take a photo or help steam your vegetables. Nevertheless, we still care about "useless" objects like these. We spend a lot of time working with beautiful mechanisms and sometimes it's nice to showcase these discoveries in the most pure and satisfying way possible. We call this one the Venn Puzzle!

Rule of thumb: higher f-stop, less volume of light coming in and less blurred planes. Lower f-stop, more light coming in and more blurred the background/foreground become. These photos were taken from f2.8 to f32 which shows the vast difference that the apertures can make! If you wanna learn some more let us know! #kohnecamera #apertures
