1. Apollo 11: On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon while Michael Collins orbited above in the command module. Armstrong famously took the first steps onto the lunar surface, uttering the iconic phrase, "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
2. Apollo 12: Launched on November 14, 1969, Apollo 12 was the second crewed mission to land on the Moon. Astronauts Charles Conrad and Alan Bean explored the lunar surface while Richard Gordon remained in lunar orbit aboard the command module.
3. Apollo 14: Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell landed on the Moon on February 5, 1971, becoming the third mission to achieve a lunar landing. Stuart Roosa orbited above in the command module.
4. Apollo 15: Launched on July 26, 1971, Apollo 15 was the fourth crewed mission to land on the Moon. David Scott and James Irwin explored the lunar surface while Alfred Worden remained in lunar orbit aboard the command module. This mission was notable for introducing the lunar rover, allowing astronauts to cover greater distances on the Moon.
5. Apollo 16: On April 21, 1972, John Young and Charles Duke landed on the Moon, marking the fifth successful lunar landing. Thomas Mattingly orbited above in the command module.
6. Apollo 17: The final crewed mission of the Apollo program, Apollo 17, launched on December 7, 1972. Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt became the last humans to walk on the lunar surface, while Ronald Evans orbited above in the command module.
