Samsung, Hindistan’da uzun süredir Galaxy M, F ve A serisi akıllı telefonlarını, kullanıcıların çoğu tarafından pek bilinmeyen bir uygulama olan AppCloud ile birlikte satıyor. Öte yandan bu uygulama adına rağmen esasında bir bulut depolama hizmeti değil. AppCloud, cihaz kurulumu sırasında üçüncü taraf uygulama önerileri sunan bir uygulama yükleyici işlevi görüyor. Yeni Galaxy cihazlarında AppCloud, kullanıcıların belirli uygulamaları yükleyip yüklemeyeceklerine karar vermeden cihaz kurulumunu tamamlamalarına izin vermiyor. “Sonra” seçeneğiyle yüklemeyi ertelemek mümkün olsa da uygulama, kullanıcı seçim yapana kadar sürekli bildirim gönderiyor ve tamamen devre dışı bırakılmadığı sürece bu bildirimler devam ediyor. AppCloud pek de masum değil Hindistan’daki kullanıcılar uzun süre AppCloud’u yalnızca gereksiz bloatware olarak görse de bu yılın başında kar amacı gütmeyen kuruluş SMEX’in bulguları, uygulamanın göründüğü kadar masum olmadığını ortaya koydu.2022’den itibaren Samsung, AppCloud’u A ve M serisi telefonlarında Batı Asya ve Kuzey Afrika (WANA) bölgelerinde de ön yüklü olarak sunmaya başladı. Bu adım, uygulamanın İsrail kökenli ironSource şirketiyle olan bağlantısı nedeniyle gizlilik endişelerini gündeme getirdi.
