The jump test is a quick and effective way to check at home!
Have your child jump off something or just in place. If they have significantly worse pain when jumping, it’s time to get evaluated asap. A study in 2019 found that kids who had increased pain with jumping had a 70% chance of having appendicitis.
Of course, you should always check with your doc if you’re concerned, but this can be a good at home test to see if you need to go to the ER vs call your pediatrician!
