KAPersonally I can't recommend picking up tarantulas.
It's been 4 months now since I got bitten and I still have pain.
It started immediately after the bite, the worst pain I ever felt.
2nd day the pain was more or less gone but then I had painful severe cramps for 3 days.
I was bitten in the finger but now 4 months later I sometimes have pain in my leg. It comes in rushes 2 weeks nothing and then suddenly my legs feels like a knife is stuck inside.

They’re one of nature’s most fascinating hunters.
They hunt with a sharp proboscis, piercing their prey like aphids, caterpillars and flies… Nothing dramatic, just balance doing its job.
They’re incredible to watch, but they can deliver a very painful defensive bite, often compared to (or worse than) a bee sting. So these beautiful insects are best admired hands off.

Some even wear their victims’ corpses on their back - it doesn’t get much cooler than that. “Kissing bugs”, a type of assassin bug, are also responsible for upwards of 10,000 humans per year by transmitting a deadly parasite when they “bite”. Like many predatory bugs, they turn their prey’s organs to soup, but assassin bugs are simply one of the best to do it.
