AUAs a traditional publishing company Author Gate can only publish a small number of books each year, so our submission guidelines are designed to maintain professional standards and ensure that only suitable manuscripts are reviewed.
1. Original work only — Manuscripts must be entirely the author’s own creative content.
2. No AI-generated material — Submissions created fully or partially using AI are not accepted.
3. No previously self-published books — Works that have already been published or publicly distributed are generally not eligible.
4. Accepted genres — Adult fiction, non-fiction, reference works, and biographies.
5. Not accepted — Children’s illustrated books, single short stories, and individual poems.
6. Academic books — Considered only in specific circumstances (e.g., prior editions published by Author Gate).
7. Agency submissions required — Manuscripts must be submitted through an approved literary agency or assessment service.
8. One submission at a time — Multiple manuscripts cannot be submitted simultaneously.
