Today I officially filed to run for New Mexico House District 60. This decision comes from a place of deep love for our community and a refusal to remain complacent. We cannot just point fingers at the majority in Santa Fe while ignoring the results from our own side. ​I am not hiding my past. I have been sober for five years because I believe that without the struggle there is no strength. To anyone who wants to use my recovery as ammunition I say do it. When you target this community you target the families you love. I believe in pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps and I believe New Mexico deserves a second chance. ​I am not running against anyone. I am running for you. We will look at the record and be honest about the good the bad and the expensive. I want my wife Mikayla and our kids to inherit a state that values hard work and results. Asking for money is the hardest part of this entire run. It isn't easy to ask my friends, my neighbors, and my family to reach into their own pockets. But let's be real. This is the cost of battle. We are in a fight for the soul of New Mexico, and every fight has a price. We are up against a machine in Santa Fe that is funded by lobbyists and special interests. They want to keep things exactly as they are while our state continues to decline. I have intentionally avoided that money because I want to be beholden to you, the voter, and not the people who have been presiding over this mess. Whether it is $5, $10, or $20, every single dollar is an investment in our future. It helps us reach more voters with a message of common sense and accountability. If you can’t give right now, I completely understand. Times are tough. But please share this video and help us get the word out to as many people as possible.
