Everyone goes crazy over them, as the bakeries only sell them for about 1,5 months every year. But guess what! You can order them from me year round! They're a sweet bun, and this version is filled with marzipan, pastry cream and Belgian milk chocolate. After they are baked, they are dipped in a dark Belgian chocolate ganache. A true taste of Denmark 🇩🇰

STICKY TOFFEE SWIRLS Puff pastry + salted butter caramel + chopped dates = little sticky toffee pudding inspired pastry swirls. Dangerously easy and an ideal weekend bake. I got the idea after seeing the lovely @gracebooth97 @gracksnacks share something using custard and raisins and it immediately got my baking brain ticking. So here’s my version using: A roll of @jus_rol Puff pastry 1/2 jar of @bonnemaman_uk Salted caramel 100g Chopped dates 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (or follow the temperature on your puff pastry packet). 2. Unroll 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry, leaving it on the parchment it comes wrapped in. 3. Using a palette knife, spread over about half a jar of salted butter caramel, taking it almost to the edges in an even layer. 4. Scatter over the chopped dates. 5. Starting from one end, carefully roll the pastry up as tightly as you can into a log. 6. Using a sharp knife, slice into rounds about 2cm thick. 7. Place the swirls onto a parchment-lined baking tray (you can use the parchment the pastry came rolled in). 8. Brush the tops with a little beaten egg and sprinkle lightly with a salt to enhance that sweet-salty flavour. 9. Bake for 10–15 minutes, until golden, crisp and caramelised. Some of the caramel may escape while baking, that’s part of the charm and adds to the sticky toffee vibe. If needed, just trim away any excess once cooled. 10. Allow to cool slightly, then transfer to a plate and dust with icing sugar before serving. They’re crisp, sticky, caramelised and very hard to stop at just one. Already thinking about all the other variations this idea could lead to…including adding chopped pecans, banana chips for a Banoffee inspired version as well as using plain condensed milk with raisins or choc chips for a play on pain suisse.
