The Banshee (from the Irish Bean Sí, meaning “woman of the fairy mound”) is one of Ireland’s oldest legends.
She isn’t evil she’s a messenger.
In Irish folklore, the Banshee appears before a death in certain old Irish families, letting out a chilling wail to warn that someone is about to pass. She’s often described as a woman with long hair, dressed in white, grey, or black, and is usually heard not seen.
