AN✨Museo Nacional del Virreinato | Tepotzotlán
🧡 Este conjunto fue el antiguo Colegio y Noviciado jesuita de San Francisco Javier.
Desde 1606, los jesuitas establecieron aquí uno de los centros educativos más importantes de la Nueva España, donde se enseñaban lenguas indígenas, música y formación religiosa.
Entre 1670 y 1682 se construyó el templo, hoy considerado por el INAH una de las expresiones más impactantes del barroco novohispano, célebre por la intensidad de sus retablos dorados.
En 1767, tras la expulsión de los jesuitas ordenada por Carlos III, el conjunto pasó a manos del gobierno y cambió de uso. Durante el siglo XIX fue nacionalizado con las Leyes de Reforma y, finalmente, en 1964 se inauguró como Museo Nacional del Virreinato.
Hoy conserva una de las colecciones más completas de arte y objetos del periodo virreinal en México.
