These Beavertails are amazingly good
🇨🇦 Classic BeaverTail Recipe
Makes: About 8 small pastries
Ingredients
For the dough:
1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup warm milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 1/2 to 3 cups flour
For frying & topping:
Vegetable oil (for frying)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Optional toppings: Nutella, maple syrup, lemon juice & sugar, crushed Oreos, etc.

Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add the rest of the sugar, warm milk, salt, melted butter, vanilla, egg, and 2 1/2 cups of flour. Mix until a dough forms. Add more flour, a little at a time, until the dough is soft and only slightly sticky.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
4. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape—like a beaver tail!—about 1/4” thick.
5. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Brush or spray lightly with oil on both sides (this helps with browning and texture). Place 1–2 dough pieces (don’t overcrowd) into the air fryer basket. Cook for 4–6 minutes, flipping halfway through.
6. Coat with whatever you enjoy and serve warm.
