WEHow are your memories of the beep test..?🤮
I mean, no wonder so many of us had a horrible time of PE or sport as children…and for many of us this has lasted for decades!
A lot of us weren’t “sporty” at school and endured hours of being picked last, standing in the corner of a freezing hockey pitch, actively running away from the ball—or pretending to have conjunctivitis to get out of swimming…
I wonder what we’ve missed out on along the way because we lacked confidence in our movement abilities?
I think about this a lot as I continue learning new skills in my 40s like vaulting, falling, handstands… all these things I never would have tried when I was younger.
If you haven’t managed to make exercise or movement stick, it’s probably because you’ve not found something you enjoy or that feels meaningful.
You’ll stick to something if it’s fun and meaningful.
You won’t stick to it if it’s miserable.
What if movement naturally integrated into your daily life, without feeling forced?
For me, it was finding that I could move outdoors with others, learn new skills and still find so much joy in it!
