Hormonal acne = breakouts triggered by hormone imbalance (androgens ↑ → oil ↑ → clogged pores) 📍 Where it shows up: Jawline, chin, lower cheeks, sometimes neck 🔍 How it looks: Deep, painful, cystic pimples that come again & again (especially before periods) 💫 How to balance it: – Fix sleep + reduce stress (cortisol impacts hormones) – Eat balanced: less sugar/dairy, more protein + fiber – Don’t overuse harsh actives (protect your skin barrier) – Stay consistent with gentle skincare – Hydration + gut health matters ✨ It’s not just skincare, it’s internal balance + patience #acneproneskin #unfilteredskin #acnehealing #acnejourney #hormonalacne

Clear skin even on your period?! That’s cycle-syncing! • Hormonal acne isn’t random! As your body goes through hormonal fluctuations (especially during the end of your luteal phase where progesterone, estrogen, FSH, & LH are all decreasing) bodily inflammation and stress can occur, causing those unwanted breakouts. • Funny enough, the Cleveland Clinic claims that you can’t do anything about it! Now, it’s definitely not an overnight fix, but as you continue to align your nutrients with the hormonal changes during each phase, your body becomes more balanced and supported… leading to less breakouts! • Those little immunity & skincare shots you see at the grocery store are SUPER CHEAP & EASY to make yourself! Takes about 7 min & makes 5-7 shots! *I measure with my heart but for you exact measurement girlies, here’s a recipe: - Wash & chop up the following ingredients (skin & all for extra nutrients) and add to a blender: - about half of your palm of fresh ginger (reduces bloating, anti inflammatory) - 1.5-2 inches of fresh turmeric (antioxidants, anti inflammatory) - One long carrot- pealed (antioxidant) - 1/2 of an orange (antioxidant, Vitamin C, supports collagen production, iron retention) - 1/2 lemon (digestion aid, reduce bloating, antioxidant, Vitamin C, supports collagen production, antibacterial properties) - 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar** (digestion aid, antimicrobial properties) - 1 cup coconut water or until all ingredients are covered (electrolytes, maintains fluid balance) - Blend, blend, blend! Until smooth - Strain using a cheese cloth (can be found at almost any grocery store for less than $4!) - Store in an airtight container, take in 2oz portions every morning! **if you have a sensitive stomach, apple cider vinegar can hurt on an empty tummy, use only 1 tbsp of vinegar and work your way up!**

Before you add another acne product… start here 👇 If you’re dealing with hormonal acne, the first thing I’d look at is whether you’re over‑complicating your skincare and accidentally damaging your skin barrier. 🎢Ofc hormonal acne is driven by hormone fluctuations. 🌸It often gets worse around ovulation (oestrogen + testosterone peak) or right before your period when they drop. 🚨Stress spikes cortisol leading to blood sugar swings to insulin spikes to more oil and inflammation. BUT… If your routine is full of anti‑oil, anti‑blemish, liquid exfoliants etc, you might be stripping your barrier and making everything 10× worse. Barrier care is step ONE. A healthy barrier = calmer, brighter, more resilient skin. My go‑to basics: • gentle cleanser at night • hypochlorous solution in the morning / after exercise • hydrating toner • a lipid‑rich moisturiser Keep it simple. Support your barrier!!!

If acne keeps coming back in the SAME places… it might not be your routine. Here are 10 signs your acne is likely hormone-driven: 1. It clusters around chin / jawline / lower face more than your T-zone. 2. It flares before your period or follows a monthly pattern. 3. The pimples are deep, tender, cyst-like (not just tiny whiteheads). 4. You get fewer “random” breakouts and more “same spot, same cycle.” 5. Your skin feels oilier around flares (even if you’re usually normal). 6. You have irregular periods (or your cycle changed recently). 7. You’re also seeing signs of higher androgens (like facial hair growth or hair thinning). 8. Acne started/peaked in your 20s–30s (adult female acne pattern). 9. You’ve tried “all the actives” and it improves for a bit… then relapses hard. 10. Stress and poor sleep don’t just “trigger” it - they amplify it. If this sounds like you: it doesn’t mean skincare is useless - it means skincare is only one piece. A derm + (sometimes) a gynae/endo work-up can be the missing step, especially if PCOS/hyperandrogenism symptoms are present. #hormonalacne #acne #acnebreakouts

If your acne keeps coming back no matter what you try... this might be why 👀 5 signs your acne is hormonal 1. It’s always around your chin and jaw No matter what you use, it keeps showing up in the same place. 2. You break out around your period Skin starts acting up right before or during your cycle. 3. The spots are painful Not just small pimples.. deeper, sore ones that sit under the skin. 4. It keeps coming back You think it’s gone, then it shows up again like clockwork. 5. Your skin suddenly feels more oily Especially during certain times of the month. It’s not just skincare... sometimes it’s internal 🤍 #hormonal #hormonalacne #guthealth #realskintalk #skincareroutine

Sometimes acne isn’t just about what you apply on your skin… it can also be about what’s happening inside your body. For the longest time I kept switching skincare products thinking that would solve everything. But when breakouts kept coming back (especially hormonal ones), I started focusing more on internal balance too. Recently I’ve been trying Be Odd Beyond Skin, which is designed to support skin wellness from within by focusing on things like gut health, hormonal balance and internal inflammation. It’s not about quick fixes or overnight results — consistency matters and everyone’s skin journey is different. But I’ve been enjoying taking a more balanced approach to my routine lately. If your skin has been feeling reactive or hormonal, sometimes supporting your body from within can make a difference over time. 🤍 . . . . . . I used to think this was just random acne. It wasn’t. My breakouts were coming from inside, not just products. Common root causes people ignore Hormonal imbalance (PCOS, periods, stress spikes) High sugar + dairy intake Poor gut health and digestion issues Wrong skincare for your skin type Overusing actives and damaging skin barrier Irregular sleep and high cortisol levels For me, it was mostly hormonal + lifestyle. What actually helped me (no overnight miracle) I fixed my routine first sleep before 10, less stress triggers Cut down sugar and excess dairy for a few weeks Focused on simple skincare gentle cleanser, no over-exfoliation, barrier repair Stayed consistent instead of trying every trending product Tracked my cycle and noticed when acne was triggered Slowly my skin started calming down. Not perfect, but healing. If your acne keeps coming back, stop blaming just products. Look at your habits, hormones, and consistency. Acne is not always a skincare problem. Sometimes it’s a hormone conversation your body is trying to start. When hormones fluctuate, your skin often becomes the messenger. Here’s what usually happens: 1. Androgens increase oil production → pores clog faster 2. Hormonal shifts trigger inflammation → deeper, painful breakouts 3. Sebum + bacteria → persistent acne, especially around the chin and jawline That’s why many people notice acne: – Before their menstrual cycle – During periods of high stress – With conditions like hormonal imbalance or PCOS – Stressful Work Your skin isn’t working against you. It’s sending signals about what’s happening inside your body. Instead of only treating acne on the surface, it’s important to also look at: ✔ hormone balance ✔ stress levels ✔ sleep quality ✔ nutrition ✔ gut health When the internal balance improves, the skin often follows. Healthy skin starts with understanding your body. 🌿 If you’re looking for a permanent solution, DM me “Acne” now👇 Tag that person who is struggling with Acne… #hormonalacne #acneeducation #skincarescience #hormonehealth #acnetips [skinhealth holisticskincare hormonebalance acneawareness skincareknowledge]
