Views like this have to be earned, so grab your water bottle and head to Black’s Beach via the staircase on Citizens Trail at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, where the effort is great but the payoff is greater. Sturdy shoes are a must, as are a desire for dramatic scenery and a wanderlust for intensity. This one is tough, but with a tremendous reward.
