Dr. Daniel Amen's approach to breaking negative thought loops, focuses on identifying, challenging, and reframing negative thoughts to promote more positive and balanced thinking. This involves recognizing when negative thoughts arise, understanding that they may not be accurate, and then actively replacing them with more helpful and realistic perspectives. For more good content follow: @ceo.forum @ceo.forum @ceo.forum DM for credit or removal request (no copyright intended) ©️ All rights and credits reserved to the respective owner(s) #life #wisdom #yourself #positivethoughts #questions #observing #objective #positive #negative #thoughts #drdanielamen

Your brain is not broken. It’s just been trained. Most people think negative thought loops mean something is wrong with them. But in neuroscience, repetitive thinking is usually an attention-training problem, not a personality flaw. Your brain runs an attention algorithm all day long. Whatever you engage with repeatedly becomes what your brain learns to prioritize. Three major brain systems are involved in this: The salience network decides what is important. The default mode network builds ongoing stories about your life. The dopamine reward system reinforces whatever you focus on. When worry gets repeated attention, these systems start working together. Your brain marks those thoughts as important and begins scanning for more of them. That’s how negative thought loops form. Not because life is worse. But because your brain learned that worry equals engagement. The good news is that this system is highly trainable. When you deliberately focus on appreciation or positive meaning, even for a minute, you trigger dopamine and shift how the salience network tags information. Over time, the brain begins to deliver more of what it has been trained to notice. This simple exercise is one of the fastest ways to interrupt mental rumination and retrain your brain’s attention patterns. You don’t need to fight your mind. You just need to train the algorithm it’s running. Breaking free from negative thought patterns isn’t just about willpower—it’s about understanding and strategic action. Dr. Amen reminds us that our thoughts are powerful, but not immutable. While deep healing (like addressing past traumas) is crucial, you can start transforming your emotional landscape right now. The formula is simple: Awareness + Understanding + Intentional Action = Meaningful Change Your mind is adaptable. Your healing is possible. 🧠✨ Reshared from: @patricia_coachingtherapy video credit @‌doc_amen ‌ ‌ #therapy #therapist #healing #emotionalhealing #emdr #attachment #trauma #change

🧠 The Hidden Damage of Negativity Your thoughts physically shape your brain — for better or worse. ⚠️ The problem: • We just published a huge study on negativity bias • Constant negative thinking weakens your frontal lobes — the part of the brain responsible for focus, planning, and decision-making • Over time, your brain literally becomes wired to expect the worst 🌅 The fix: Positivity Bias Training • Start your day with: “Today is going to be a great day.” • End your day with: “What went well today?” • These simple statements reprogram your brain to search for what’s right • Your brain becomes a problem-solver — for good, not just survival ✨ It’s not magic, it’s mechanics • Do we believe in manifestation? Not in the woo-woo way. • But telling your brain what you want? That’s neuroscience. • Your brain will start looking for ways to make it true. 🧩 Bottom line: Train your brain like you train your body. Shift your focus → Shift your life. 🗣️ Speakers: @steven @doc_amen 🎵 Music: Emile Mosseri - Jacob and the Stone 🎬 Video: @thediaryofaceopodcast Contact us for credit or removal requests (no copyright intended) ©️ All rights and credits reserved to the respective owner(s).

How To Reframe Negative Thoughts… 1. Is this thought true? Is it absolutely true? Examples: “No one really likes me.” “I’m a failure.” “There is no hope for me.” “I’ll always be this way.” Etc These thoughts are a reaction from a place or trauma that you are now projecting into & onto yourself, others, & you future. Find the true facts, not the tainted opinion. 2. How do I react to this thought? Does it bring me down? Does it instill fear? Does it instill guilt or shame? Am I worried about the future or am I ripping myself because of the past? If this is your reaction (or something like it) you are reacting from a place of hurt / wound. Understanding that the reality this thought is creating is actually false, is a great place to begin the healing process. 3. Who am I without this thought? A lot of time with negative thoughts, not only do we think it but we also embody it. It becomes our identity. “I’m anxious. I’m broken. I’m fill in the blank.” Without this thought we can begin to understand who we actually are. 4. How can I reframe this thought? This is where you dig deep down, consider all you’ve thought through in the last 3 questions and make a decision to believe the positive. Believe the best about you. Be kind to yourself. Realize you aren’t these negative thoughts. Being reflective and aware can really help you begin to pinpoint when you are buying into something that isn’t true at all. From there, this will lead you to the root of it all. The place this thinking originates from. Usually from childhood and trauma. This is then the place you can talk to a therapist / trusted person and begin to work through the genesis of this thought process. Love you guys! You are what you THINK! @byron.katie

Bhagavad Gita : How to get rid of your Negative Thoughts? You are tired of your own mind. It keeps repeating the same line. And slowly, you start believing it. Negative thoughts are not the real damage. Identification is. The moment a thought becomes “me”, it controls your mood, your decisions, your confidence. You don’t need a positive thought. You need distance. This is the shift most people miss. 🧠 10 Facts About Overcoming Intrusive Thoughts 👇 1. You are the observer, not the thought. These thoughts are like clouds passing through—you’re the sky, not the clouds. They don’t define you. 2. Intrusive thoughts are normal. 94% of people experience them. Your brain generates thousands of thoughts daily; some will be uncomfortable. 3. Resisting makes them stronger. Suppression creates a rebound effect. Fighting them reinforces them. 4. They thrive on fear. The more you react or assign meaning, the more your brain flags them as important. 5. The content reflects your fears, not desires. Disturbing thoughts often appear because you care deeply about NOT doing those things. 6. Neutrality beats positivity. “That’s just a thought” is more powerful than arguing with it or replacing it. 7. They’re a symptom of a sensitized nervous system. When you’re on high alert, your brain generates alarming thoughts as protection. 8. Time and non-reaction reduce their power. Your brain learns they’re not threats. The thoughts may appear, but lose their charge. 9. Certainty-seeking keeps you trapped. Trying to figure out what they mean or seeking reassurance reinforces the cycle. 10. Recovery means they don’t bothr you, not that they disappear. The goal is reaching a point where you genuinely don’t care—they’re just mental noise.
