I’m proud of myself! Physical therapy is dope, but it’s not easy. I still cant walk yet, but I’m grateful that the guys pushed me beyond what I thought I could do - right now I’m working on my ankle and knee while my leg still heals from the broken bone and bone graft surgery; but they wanted to give me some confidence and encouragement, which I needed and appreciated. I never thought I’d be learning to walk again. Truth is, I continue to find joy in the little things and I feel more happy with my life than when I was out every night partying and 💩. Everyone says “sometimes God gotta sit you down”, we all should be looking at our lives, sitting ourselves down before anyone or anything else has to do it for us. I’m not trying to rush this process at all, I wish a solid recovery over a speedy one. Healing my bone, my wound on my leg, and my hand it’s a process. I shed tears yesterday thinking about that night when I almost outta here; I’m thankful to still be alive 💯❤️‍🩹 I appreciate all the prayers and support 🙏🏾 means more than you know #GodIsTheGreatest #WalkingMiracle

This appears to be a dorsally displaced distal radius fracture, a common injury after a fall or contact sport like wrestling. The visible deformity is due to the broken bone ends being out of alignment. In this clip, a closed reduction is performed to realign the fracture, which is an important first step in treatment. However, reduction alone is not the end of care. The patient will require X-rays before and after reduction to assess alignment and fracture stability. Depending on the fracture pattern, degree of displacement, involvement of the joint surface, and the patient’s age, surgical fixation with plates and screws may still be necessary to maintain proper alignment and restore function. Even in younger patients, close follow-up is critical to ensure the fracture heals correctly and to prevent long-term issues such as stiffness, loss of motion, or malunion. ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 🌴😷Schedule a consultation to see Dr. Abbasi as a patient in Delray Beach! Before leaving Texas I had to sneak in to @ways2well and get stem cell treatment. Got stem in my foot, shoulder and IV. Last year my shoulder was toast (could barely pull my bow and couldn’t bench press) and now…well, I lifted weights today and on Tuesday I pulled my heavy poundage bow while sitting in a blind (not always easy), and arrowed a great buck with no pain. I haven’t had shoulder pain in months now. Also, had hip issues which are gone and as far as the broken foot well it doesn’t heal broken bone apparently but I got them in there anyway. Never know. 😊 Thanks for helping me get healthy @ferrisbuhler81 and his awesome team at @ways2well. 🙏 📸 @rihana.stark

🦴 Ever wondered how your body actually heals a broken bone? It’s not magic — it’s biology in action. Your body follows a 4-stage process that can take weeks (or even months) to complete. Here’s how it works 👇 1️⃣ Hematoma Formation (Days 1–7) Right after a fracture, blood vessels tear and leak around the break. This forms a hematoma — basically a blood clot — that surrounds the fracture site. It’s the body’s SOS signal, flooding the area with cells that start inflammation and attract the first wave of healers. 2️⃣ Soft Callus Formation (Weeks 1–3) Next, specialized cells called fibroblasts and chondroblasts move in. They start building a soft callus made of collagen and cartilage. This temporary tissue acts like a natural splint, stabilizing the bone while the real rebuilding begins. 3️⃣ Hard Callus Formation (Weeks 3–8) Now the body gets serious. Osteoblasts (bone-building cells) replace that soft cartilage with hard bone tissue — forming what’s called a bony callus. The fracture line becomes stronger and more stable, though still not as tough as the original bone. 4️⃣ Bone Remodeling (Months to Years) Finally, your body reshapes the repaired bone to match its original structure. Osteoclasts (bone-eating cells) remove excess material while osteoblasts continue to strengthen and refine the bone. Over time, it’s like the break never happened. ✨ Fun fact: Bones are one of the few tissues in your body that can heal back to 100% strength — no scar tissue left behind. So next time you see an X-ray of a fracture, remember — your body is a master engineer, quietly rebuilding itself from the inside out. 💪 ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 🌴😷Schedule a consultation to see Dr. Abbasi as a patient in Delray Beach! The calcaneus, or heel bone, is a large bone at the back of your foot. If you break your calcaneus, it hurts and swells right away. Broken bones have an amazing ability to heal. New bone replaces broken bone through a natural healing process. Some broken heel bones need surgery- realigned and fixed with a plate and screws. Nope, not a broken bone this time. Just another thrilling episode of their imaginary pirate adventure. Some moms call it the fake scream, some call it the mengada scream, and sometimes it’s the real deal. I won’t remember the first steps I took as a baby, but I won’t forget the first steps took in these new hips. 21 days in my new prosthetic hips after bilateral total hip replacement. Today I felt achy, nervy (pain) and mostly a bit flat but the good days in my recovery past few weeks have outweighed the bad. I didn’t know I had osteo arthritis until after the birth of my 3rd when I didn’t recover and do normal movement without pain or a 10 step mental process to navigate my way through the movement without pain. It was frustrating, painful and most of all made me feel like I was living in a body well beyond my years. Physios helped me investigate why I felt so “jammed” and we uncovered bone grinding on bone, and broken bone floating about from the severity of the arthritis in my hips. This wasn’t something I had “done” as a result of exercise, nor that I knew about until my 3rd pregnancy tipped me over the edge. Rather, at 38 we unveiled arthritis as a result of congenital hip dysplasia. The hip dysplasia I had just witnessed and supported my own baby going through was what I had as a baby too, but for some reason my diagnosis was missed. For a few reasons (financial, health fund status, gut instinct) I didn’t go with the 1st orthopaedic surgeon I saw. I waited out the upgrade in hospital insurance, and used the time to research and find the best hip surgeon to give me a new lease on movement. I found him, and even walking in with my one really angry hip he advised to do both at the same time (both are bad just one was far worse) using the anterior approach. He said recover once and get back to living the life of a young woman, something my body and my head space deserves to live (that was an emotional moment). Another 8 months went by after locking in surgery date, the anxiety built in the lead up and then I was on the other side of it 💥 Up and taking steps in new hips within a few hours of surgery (science, doctors, nurses are truly amazing). I spent 4 days in at POW then moved to Wolper for a week. Each day, there was progress. I expected far less. But every day something shifts. Cont below..

Many people, including doctors don’t fully understand why receiving a diagnosis matters so deeply. Illness is not always straightforward, like the flu or a broken bone. For many, it takes years of searching just to understand what is happening inside their own body. A diagnosis can be the difference between life and death. It allows treatment to be targeted, not guessed. Knowing the source of an illness opens the door to appropriate medications, effective surgeries, and care that actually works. A diagnosis also determines access to care. Many doctors will not see a patient without a confirmed diagnosis, leaving countless people suffering without support or treatment. For me, one of the most important aspects of a diagnosis is validation. Confirmation that the symptoms and the suffering are real. This validation matters not only personally, but also as protection against medical gaslighting and dismissal. A diagnosis opens doors.
