There are so many benefits of the CAGED System for both rhythm and lead guitar playing and so many ways to utilize it. One of the best ways to use the CAGED System is to create a “blueprint” for the key you’re playing in. Creating the CAGED Blueprint will allow you to map out the fretboard for any key. The CAGED System will allow you to break down the fretboard into 5 boxes/shapes. You can then plug the notes of the key (the major scale) into these boxes. You can do this for any key and any scale!
