HODesde hace años sabía que cuando me embarazara me tendrían que hacer un cerclaje cervical preventivo en las primeras semanas (entre 12 y 14) por MIS temas de hiperlaxitud y tejido conectivo (si tienes las mismas semanas que yo CERO te asustes, esto es un tema MIO, probablemente tu no necesites nada) pero resulta que es mucho maaaas commún de lo que pensé y tiene un gran success rate ✨🤍 fue algo cero invasivo y rapido y previene tener un parto MUY prematuro ya sea por hiperlaxitud (como yo), por un cuello uterino corto o por incompetencia cervical. Estaré en reposo full estos días pero la próxima semana les hago un video mas detallado contandoles mi experiencia por si alguien mas esta viviendo esto. A mi me sirvió y tranquilizó mucho ver videos de otras mujeres que pasaron por el mismo procedimiento y ver que todo salió bien. Espero que nadie tenga que hacerselo pero es bueno saber que si sí, todo saldrá bien ✨🫶🏼 las quiero, gracias por estar aquí y por todos sus buenos deseos.

When a fetus is cephalic, complete dilation is when no cervix is left surrounding the fetal head. This depends on the size of the fetal head!
✔️When we examine your cervix we are using a diameter measurement between our index and middle fingers to assess dilation. Full dilation can occur at less than or more than 10cm!
✔️Head circumference: The distance around the baby's head.
•The average newborn's head measures 13 3/4 in (35 cm)
•Generally, a newborn's head is about half the baby's body length in cm plus 10 cm. So a baby that is 18 inches long would be 45.7 centimeters (18 x 2.54). That would be about 32.9 cm or a little under 13 inches.
✔️Molding does occur to help facilitate progression of the fetal head through the birth canal.

Cervical exams in pregnancy are important for induction. Beyond that, it’s really just for curiosity. It does not predict when labor will start.
It’s okay to be curious. It’s okay to want to know. Just go into it with the knowledge that your body is doing things you can’t feel or measure to prep for labor. Things ARE happening even if it doesn’t seem like it.
Birth is a mystery. We still don’t know how or why labor starts when it does. I know it’s hard to live with uncertainty but that part of the surrender.
