ALWhenever we dive into home consultations, it’s probably one of the first things often brought up.
Whether you were moving 5 years ago or you’re looking to make a move sometime this year, towns like Madison, Chatham and Summit have only continued to grow in popularity.
So what is it about these towns that has a steady pull on buyers? I think it’s a number of factors, but one of the main things to remember - you’re buying more than just a house on a street.
Your investment covers the neighborhoods, the communities, the excellent school systems (if this applies to your needs), and being within close proximity to their central downtowns which highlight an incredible roster of restaurants and local-run businesses.
More often than not, I hear how important it is to be on a Midtown Direct train line to NYC and it can often shape the start of someone’s home journey. Just the other day a friend told me this is one of the key reasons they chose to live here.
And while I understand the median price absolutely tends to swing higher, I think for some, the importance of an ease to their lifestyle outweighs the premium price.
Lastly, it’s hard to deny the wonderful access to community associations (like Wickham Woods or Rolling Hill in Chatham), closeness to country clubs (if that’s something you’re looking for), and annual celebrations that are really tailored to enhancing the lifestyle of living in close knit suburbs.
