This rally from the Cancún P2 against Lebrón and Augsburger is the perfect example. Coello takes control, dominates every exchange, and when the moment comes he finishes it with an X4 that leaves no room for debate. Two of the best players in the world on the other side of the net and it didn’t matter.

What makes Coello so difficult to stop when he gets into this mode is the combination of timing and intent. He doesn’t just hit the X4 — he engineers the situation that makes it possible. The build-up, the positioning, the moment he chooses to step in and take over — all of it is deliberate. Against Lebrón and Augsburger, a pair with the defensive quality to absorb almost anything, producing a clean X4 winner requires not just technique but perfect placement into the corner. Coello had both.
This is what world number one looks like when it matters.
Padel is a sport that combines elements of tennis and squash, played on an enclosed court where the walls are weapons in the hands of players who know how to use them. The X4 is one of the most technically demanding finishing shots in padel — hitting the side wall then the back wall to create an angle that is virtually unreturnable. When it’s executed like this, in a live competitive point against elite opposition, it is one of the cleanest ways to end a rally that the sport produces.
