The Commodore 64 holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the best selling computer of all time. It was released in 1982 with a price tag of around $595. The “64” refers to the 64 KB of RAM and it had a MOS Technology 6510 CPU running at 1 MHz. It had VIC-ll graphics Chip and was VAS capable of sprites and smooth scrolling... making it great for gamers. Programs and games came on a 5 1/4 floppy disk. This is widely regarded as the bestselling home computer of all time, with sales estimates of 12-17 million. It had a huge software library, especially video games, educational programs and productivity software. The C64 played a huge role in making personal computer accessible to the masses. As a little Easter egg, we booted up Star Trek The Computer Game (Trek 64).
