The coracoid process of the scapula serves as an attachment site for three muscles: Coracobrachialis – Originates from the coracoid process and inserts on the humerus, assisting in flexion and adduction of the shoulder. Biceps Brachii (Short Head) – Originates from the coracoid process and contributes to elbow flexion and forearm supination. Pectoralis Minor – Inserts onto the coracoid process and helps in scapular protraction and downward rotation. These muscles play a role in stabilising the scapula and facilitating upper limb movement. #osteopathy #anatomy #shoulderpaintreatment #manualtherapy #osteopathytreatment

The coracobrachialis is a muscle in the upper arm that assists with shoulder flexion and adduction. It originates from the coracoid process of the scapula and inserts onto the medial surface of the humerus. The muscle is innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve (C5-C7) and primarily functions to move the arm towards the body (adduction) and to flex the shoulder joint, helping lift the arm forward. It is a relatively small but important muscle for shoulder stability and arm movement. 💥 Is This Muscle the Source of Your Shoulder Pain? 💥 If you’re dealing with impingement, poor posture, or constant trap tightness… You might be missing one key culprit: the pectoralis minor 👇 This small muscle sits under the chest and attaches to the shoulder blade at the coracoid process. When it gets overactive, it pulls the scapula into anterior tilt—rolling the shoulder forward. That leads to impingement, poor scapular control, and irritation with overhead movements. 🛠️ Here’s how we fix it: 🧱 Wall Angels – Stretch the chest while activating scapular stabilizers to reverse forward tilt 🔧 Banded I’s – Wake up the lower traps and build shoulder blade control without shrugging ♾️ Infinity Hovers – Mobilize the scapula through full range and train fine control + positioning 🎯 Don’t just stretch what feels tight. Train the muscles that fight anterior tilt—and your shoulder finally moves (and feels) right again. 👉 DM the word “pain” and I'll send you a free shoulder pain fix demo with my team! #shoulderpain #pecminor #shoulderimpingement #fixshoulderpain #comebackperformance #shoulderrehab #scapularcontrol #posturefix #traprelief #shouldermobility

CORACOID PAIN TEST💥 The test has a sensitivity of 0.96 and a specificity ranging from 0.87 to 0.89. The coracoid pain test could be considered as a pathognomonic sign in physical examination of patients with stiff and painful shoulder. A set of diagnostic criteria was first described by Codman and it still holds true today. These criteria include: pain in the shoulder which comes on slowly and is felt at the insertion of the deltoid, inability to sleep on the affected side, atrophy of the scapular muscles, and local tenderness. #physio #diagnosis #physiotherapy #shoulderpain #frozenshoulder

The coracoclavicular bursa is an anatomic bursa located between the coracoid process of the scapula and the clavicle, closely associated with the conoid and trapezoid components of the coracoclavicular ligament. Its function is to reduce friction and facilitate smooth motion between the clavicle and coracoid during shoulder elevation and scapular rotation. Pathology of this bursa, though uncommon, can include inflammation or bursitis, which may contribute to anterior shoulder pain and mimic acromioclavicular or subcoracoid disorders. 🔥Fix THIS for Shoulder Pain! 🚨 STOP IGNORING THIS MUSCLE! 🚨 If you have anterior shoulder pain, tightness, or trouble with overhead movements, your pec minor might be the real problem! ⚡💀 🔎 Why does the pec minor cause shoulder pain? This small but mighty muscle attaches from the coracoid process of the scapula to the ribs (3rd-5th ribs). When it gets tight or overactive, it: ✅ Pulls the shoulder blade forward & down ⬇️ ✅ Limits upward rotation of the scapula 🛑 ✅ Narrows the subacromial space = impingement risk ❌ ✅ Leads to pain, poor posture & movement restrictions 🏋️‍♂️ 🔥 How to Fix It? 🔥 1️⃣ Release & Stretch to loosen it up! 2️⃣ Strengthen the Serratus & Lower Trap to restore balance. 3️⃣ Improve Shoulder Mobility to avoid impingement! 🎯 watch the video for the exact exercises you need to relieve pain and get your shoulders moving better! 💪🔥 👉 Tag a friend who needs this! #ShoulderPain #ShoulderHealth #FixYourPosture #AthleticShoulder #PhysicalTherapy #PecMinor #RotatorCuff #ScapularControl #physio #fitnessphysio #shoulder

Sometimes it’s the muscles you didn’t know you had 😌 This muscle originates from the coracoid process of the scap (at the font of the shoulder under the collar bone) and inserts on the inner arm. ‼️ If we lose scap position in the bench, this muscle can get strained: • trying to bring back in flared elbows (adduction) • touching too low on our chest and correcting by over-pressing over the face (increase shoulder flexion) ✅ Here’s a simple stretch and strengthen option to get the shoulder feeling good again! . MEREGALI’s Shoulder Surgery: Return to Jiu Jitsu Timeline •••••••••••••••••••••••• At ADCC Meregali suffered an anterior shoulder dislocation with a faulty breakfall. The damage was severe enough to warrant surgery. MEREGALI’s surgeons opted for a Latarjet procedure. This surgery is an open bony augmentation of the glenoid. It involves transferring the coracoid process and its attached conjoint tendon to the anterior glenoid rim. This creates a bony block and musculotendinous sling to prevent instability. “Authors describe excellent clinical outcomes, return to sport rates, and low rates of recurrence. Nonetheless, the Latarjet procedure results in significant distortion in normal anatomy and may be associated with significant restriction in post op ROM.” The overall rate of return to play was 88.8%, with 72.6% returning to the same level of play. Among collision athletes, the overall rate of return to play was 88.2%, with 69.5% returning to the same level of play. The mean time to return to play was 5.8 months (range, 3.2-8 months).
