CAOn 28th June, we had a celebratory training day at Corpus Christi High School, in recognition of the 20 year anniversary of Cardiff Martial Arts.
As most members train only with their local instructor, it was a chance to train with the other club members of instructors from different parts of the city.
The morning session was for Little Dragons (4-6 year olds) and Little Juniors (7-8 year olds) who had 2 great sessions. They were games with the pool-noodles, padwork, and some ground ‘self defence’ against the parents!
The afternoon session was for older children, teenagers, and adults consisting of 3 sessions. We had sparring, padwork, patterns, self defence and plenty of fun!
All in all it was a great day to mark the two decades of Cardiff Martial Arts.
We’d like to thank Mr Bishop (senior), Mrs Bradley, Mr Green and Mr Bishop (junior) who came from Devon to be guest instructors. Their knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious and brought a fantastic energy to the day.
Finally, Master McCabe would like to thank Mr Draper, Miss Moore, and Mr Peake - the evolution of Cardiff Martial Arts has been intertwined with their involvement and the club has matured far beyond the small number of classes we originally had back in 2005.
As we look to the future we continue to embrace the communities within which we are based - Cathays, Grangetown, St Mellons, Llandaff North, Lisvane and Pontprennau. We’ve been in these locations for many years and we are excited about the next decade in those places.
