Now that it’s been received, I want to share the project that I have been working on for the past month that grew and stretched my skills such as the iridescent, fusible pleather for the banner letters and the slippery, shifty, shimmery organza for the dragon wings. Both of which stressed me out to no end, but I had a vision that I refused to deviate from. Wanton endangerment. I want you to think for a moment about your profession, whatever it is. Imagine you killed someone while at work—how many of the statements below would be true for you? ✅ paid by taxpayers for the shift at time of the murder ✅paid by taxpayers while on admin leave ✅legal fees covered by unions that are nearly untouchable ✅lawsuits for wrongful death paid on your behalf by taxpayers ✅national guard, police patrols, tear gas, rubber bullets financed by taxpayers to enforce curfews and put down protests against your impunity ✅assisted by colleagues to cover up/get story straight also while being paid by taxpayers ✅having a large part of the country and government believe anything you say because you’re part of the profession ✅there is an amended American flag created and widely distributed to show support for all the things I named above ✅you only need a few months of training to wield deadly force ✅there are laws on the books that specifically name your profession as one subject to different application of the law for members of your profession As a speech pathologist, I’m responsible for the safety of students and patients to ensure they can breathe (1st!) , eat safely, and as much as possible improve communication. If I killed someone I would have my license taken, I would never work again, I would be put in jail and I would lose everything! Of course I will be very careful, I have a lot to lose! Over the course of my 7 years of education to enter this field I’ve learned how important my decisions are in affecting someone’s quality of life and safety! The same isn’t true for police, so how can we expect them to act like black lives matter or any lives matter? Our laws are setup to protect them no matter what, and they’re working just as they have been designed to work. These are all true for police. These are also things that can be changed! Laws are made up. They can also be made JUST. It has taken a long time for them to build these barriers to justice, we cannot grow weary in destructing them! Our lives are always on the line—we must vote like it! Please comment your profession and which of these ✅ are true for you—if any

I cannot be the only one! I’m just going along minding my stitches and next thing I know, it’s like I got slapped with one of those optical illusion books and the whole script is flipped. Then I can’t figure out which leg of the V I was counting and have to start over 😩it happens almost every single time I count stitches that aren’t on a needle I guess those little square rulers, maybe those make it easier to not get lost in the sea of Vs . I always use my trusty $1 ruler or tape measure when I can find it, which is almost never😕 I’ve never discussed this with another person until after I recorded this and sent it to a friend. She said it happens to her all the time too 🤓 I’m christening this phenomenon as the Gauge effect but I’m accepting cleverer name suggestions
