THReliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on Sunday, January 11, 2026, announced that Jio will launch a people-first artificial intelligence (AI) platform built in India for India and the world, aimed at making AI accessible, affordable and useful for every citizen.
The announcement was made at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra region held in Rajkot.
According to Ambani, the AI platform will enable citizens, starting from Gujarat, to access AI services in their “own language, on their own device, every day to make them more efficient and productive.” He said Gujarat would be positioned as India’s artificial intelligence pioneer.
“In Jamnagar, we are building India’s largest artificial intelligence-ready data centre with a single goal: Affordable AI for every Indian.”
He also revealed that Reliance is already Gujarat’s largest investor. “In the last five years, we have invested over three and a half lakh crores. Today, I’m pleased to announce that we will double this to seven lakh crores over the next five years, creating exponential employment, livelihoods, and greater sympathy for every Gujarati, and every Indian.”
