Save this for later ➡️ Deck Squat Progressions PART 1: 1️⃣Fully Assisted Deck Squat - Focusing on learning how the movement works. Getting up and down off the ground, while distributing your weight properly. 2️⃣ Partial Assisted Deck Squat - Begin to focus on learning to activate the core to pull you up off the floor versus your upper body. 3️⃣ Deck Squat - Squeeze the glutes as your feet get under you and push through the floor. 4️⃣ Low Impact Weighted Deck Squat - This can be used to help build strength in the movement, allowing you to build towards a single leg deck squat. It can also be used as an alternative if you can’t jump. 5️⃣ Weighted Deck Squat - Make sure to test with a low weight first to ensure you don’t hurt yourself on the plyometric parts of the movement. It should be a weight you can hold comfortably without fatigue. 6️⃣ Single Leg Low Impact Deck Squat - Begin to learn the mechanics of the single leg deck squat without getting burnt out by the plyometric hop on one foot. 7️⃣ Single Leg Deck Squat - DO NOT SACRIFICE alignment to look fancy. This is only added when you are not challenged by the Single Leg Low Impact Deck Squat. #plyometrics #powertraining #gluteworkout

How to do a proper squat! 👇🏼 Set Up: Begin standing with feet shoulder width, toes slightly out to the side and weight in your heels. Movement: Keeping your weight in your heels and using your hands in front of you as a counterbalance, lead down and back with your hips, then stand upward, squeezing your glutes and pushing your hips towards the wall, then come back down in the squat position. Benefit: This is a great movement for the glutes, quads, hamstrings, and calves and an overall phenomenal power movement for the lower body. Let’s face it, handstands require a ton of foundational exercises to build the strength/endurance in the shoulders, body awareness while inverted, core control, and all the mobility prerequisite 😉 Aka the boring stuff haha but trust me, these foundational movements yield the best results. There are several variations you can explore here. If performing with the pullover, make sure to keep that core engaged and lower back pressed into the ground as the bell goes overhead. Use the momentum on the way up to get back into that deep squat, then pressing down through those feet to stand. You’ll learn rather quickly that you can utilize the weight of the bell.. but that you will also need to recruit your own stability and strength to execute this movement. #kettlebelltraining #decksquat #mobility #strength #kettlebellcave
