This is why: Every single IC needs decoupling capacitors. Not somewhere on the board. Right next to the power pin. When an IC is in normal use, they can pull short bursts of current. If there’s no capacitor nearby, the voltage rail will dip, no longer supplying 5V for that brief moment. You won’t see it on a multimeter. But your MCU will. That tiny voltage drop causes: Weird behaviour Random resets ADC noise Communication errors At minimum, use: A 100nF ceramic capacitor placed right next to the power pin of the IC or microcontroller. A 10uF electrolytic bulk capacitor on the rail nearby. They’re like tiny local energy reservoirs that can supply current very fast when needed, so the voltage at the IC pins stays stable. Save this before your next PCB build
