So, if you’re struggling with finding peace with your loss, and can’t accept what’s happened, my Wednesday tip is for you. Not everything makes sense in life, and some things are not meant for you to find meaning in, nor can you rationalize them in your mind no matter how hard you try. The fact is, death is a part of life. It’s not something we want, but we do not get what we always want in life. That’s how the universe works. You cannot change the past. It’s done. It can never be changed. But you can choose to change and find acceptance. When you do this, your suffering begins to ease. And you flow with the universal principles of life. So, my Wednesday tip is this: Focus today on finding radical acceptance with what’s happened without resistance or any judgement. Focus on those precious memories of the past, because they will be with you forever. And don’t worry too about the future, because all you have is today (but you can plan better for it from a place of radical acceptance). If you’d like some support with finding acceptance with your loss, DM me. Sometimes, therapy using dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) techniques can help you with finding acceptance with what’s happened. DM me if you’d like some more information. I can also listen to whatever you’re struggling with, and through our conversation, you might find some relief from your pain and suffering. 🔝 Tocmai ai văzut o metodă rapidă de calmare a corpului în urma unui stres. 🥵 Dar de ce funcționează atât de bine? 💯⤵️ Stresul nu e doar în minte, dar se simte și în corp. 🏃🏻‍♂️‍➡️ Când ești tensionat, corpul intră pe modul de supraviețuire: fight or flight. Temperatura crește, inima bate mai repede, respirația se accelerează. Totul e gândit pentru fugă, nu pentru liniște. 🌡️ Se activează sistemul nervos simpatic, se eliberează adrenalină și cortizol, metabolismul se accelerează, iar sângele e redistribuit în zonele „esențiale pentru fugă”. Hipotalamusul ridică și el „termostatul” intern. 🔥 Asta înseamnă: mai multă energie, mai multă căldură, mai multă tensiune. 🧊 În DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), tehnica „Tip the Temperature” folosește un truc simplu și genial: APA RECE. Când fața atinge apă rece (sub 21°C), se activează un reflex ancestral: mammalian dive reflex – reflexul de scufundare. 🤔 Ce face acest reflex? – Încetinește pulsul – Calmează respirația – Redirecționează sângele spre organele vitale – Activează sistemul parasimpatic – responsabil cu relaxarea ⛔️ E ca și cum ai apăsa un buton de „pauză” în corpul tău – un shortcut biologic spre calm. It is known as tipping the temperature and comes from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. It can be used in any situation where you may feel overwhelmed by an emotion (for eg: anger, anxiety etc). Please keep in mind that this will only be a temporary fix and will not prevent any further panic attacks. It may not work for everyone. It is important to talk to a professional if you experience panic attacks or overwhelming emotions often. Note: in case you have heart problems please check in with your doctor before using this technique as it lowers the heart rate.

🙋🏼‍♀️Making change is so hard because we don’t always feel like it. In a therapy called dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) we teach the skill of opposite action. This involves making a conscious effort to notice urges and to recognise that we don’t always have to act in line with those urges. We can make a choice to act opposite to the urge. It is far from easy in some circumstances but life changing when it is well-practiced to the advantage of your health and best interests. The opposite action is helping for harmful behaviours but also for other things like getting back into the swing of things with regular exercise or building your social contact back up again after being isolated through the pandemic, or getting that piece of work done that has been put off for too long. You can practice with small things like holding a mint in your mouth and going against the urge to crunch it. Simple exercises like that can help us to open up to the possibility of acting based on what we want rather than we we feel.
