~ Her vision, hearing, and sense of smell are all great.
~ Puddles has a TBI (traumatic brain injury) from an injury as a stray kitten before we adopted her. We don’t know what caused it. But it also broke her hip and gave her a degloved chin. (TW DO NOT GOOGLE DEGLOVED CHIN)
~ Her TBI makes her clumsy, with poor spatial awareness, motor skills, short-term memory, and focus.
~ Her brain struggles to tell her body to turn left or right, so she often uses the walls to help her make turns and navigate the house.
~ She finds the litter box just fine. I think it’s because she goes when she needs to, without the extra excitement or urgency. Plus, she can follow her scent. The feeder, on the other hand, beeps, and she gets so excited that she loses track of where to go.
~ I’m always home when the feeders go off, so she never misses a meal. They’re mainly to keep me on schedule.
~ This is not all the food she gets. Her feeder goes off multiple times a day and she gets wet food for dinner<3
~ I don’t know for sure how well she finds her water fountain during the day so she always gets lots of extra water in her wet food!
~ We can’t put the feeder in the hallway or in the middle of the room. We have 90lb dog that we constantly trip over, on top of the fact that I’m already very clumsy😅
~ For those asking why we don’t move the feeder to the other side of the doorway, I don’t for a couple reasons. First, she usually comes from the front of the house, and from that direction it’s always in her line of sight so it’s easier for her to find. Second, when she does come this way, you can tell she has memorized where it is, it just takes her a little longer because she’s trying to make her body turn. Moving it would only make her more confused. Plus this is great practice for her turning motor skills!🥰

She was found abandoned on the roadside after being hit by a car — unable to stand, dragging her tiny body forward while her back legs hung helplessly behind her. Every movement was agony. Every breath was a fight. And yet, she didn’t give up.
Her back legs are in serious danger. The impact caused severe trauma, and without urgent surgery, she may permanently lose the use of her legs — or worse. She was left there, broken and frightened, as the world passed by. No comfort. No help. Just pain and fear.
Now she is safe, but the fight is far from over. She needs immediate medical intervention to save her legs and give her a chance to walk, run, and live without suffering. Time is critical. Surgery, imaging, medication, and post-op care are the only hope standing between her and a lifetime of disability.
She deserves more than to be remembered as “the cat hit by a car.” She deserves a future — warm floors, gentle hands, and a life free from pain. Please don’t look away. Help us save her legs and her life. 🐱💔
