GAHere’s a super simple breakdown of how I perfect my drone videos.
I always start by recording in d-cine and converting my footage back to a rec709 look. (If you record in normal colour you can skip this)
I follow this by making some basic exposure and split toning adjustments which affect the highlights and shadows. Once this is done I make some local masks to affect specific areas in my shot before hitting export.
Ive turned six of my favourite looks into my own custom drone LUTs to make your videos look professional and cinematic with just a few clicks, no matter whether you’re editing on your desktop, or mobile (VN & Capcut)

TOMy cinematic FPV Drone Workflow 👇🏼
1️⃣ I stabilise my footage in @gopro reelsteady for horizontal shots and @gyroflow for vertical 🔥 GoPro I use a stabilisation of 10 and gyroflow 0.4
2️⃣ Simple one but… remove that awful drone noise. As we push our screaming FPV drones to the limit we don’t want to hear this for cinematic work
3️⃣ I colour grade in @adobeuk premier pro 🔥 I like to push the colours and turn greens into burnt oranges for a more cinematic feel for my drone shots. If you want the LUT let me know and I’ll drop you it
4️⃣ Sound effects are heavily overlooked but they add so much to a drone video. I start with Ambience such as wind noises and then layer on wooshes and SFX you’d expect to be in that environment. Crumbling rocks etc. I use @artlist.io for all my work 🙏🏼 amazing high quality sounds.
5️⃣ Music is a big one. I love the trending audios on Instagram but you can’t just use any old song. It has to fit the flow and overall feel of the drone flight. Match the song to a reveal shot or cuts to the song.
6️⃣ The secret sauce 🔥 I use @dehancer.film in premier pro to add some flavour to my fpv drone clips. This means adding bloom and halation as well as changing the film mode to a Kodak emulation.
