here 👇🏼 are a few things that have come up for me while embarking on this ✨bulking✨ journey: 1. I had a major crashout watching this footage back. while I am no longer in an era of working out to look sk!nny, I still have to fight back negative self-talk about the size of my body as it changes. I am trying to remind myself that I’m doing this on PURPOSE, to get STRONG, and to build a different physique. of course I’m not going to look as stick-thin as I did when I wasn’t my healthiest, and that’s the GOAL! 🏆 2. this workout seems almost TOO simple. like, what do you mean there are only 6 moves??? but the power is in progressive overload (increasing your working weight), consistency, and diet. getting strong does NOT have to be complicated. 🙅🏼‍♀️ 3. what you don’t see here is the 120g of protein, 225g of carbs, and 65g of fat I ate this day. you cannot put on muscle without fueling your body adequately (and for me, in a bulking phase, this also means caloric surplus!). don’t be afraid of food—it is a tool you can use strategically to meet your goals, and it can be tweaked minute-to-minute in either direction if needed! 🥬🍠🥩 4. I have been SO humbled by the numbers on these dumbbells. my baseline weights for these movements range from 7.5 lbs (lat raises) to 25 lbs (tricep extension, when I’m feeling strong lol)! everyone starts somewhere, but start lighter than you think to protect your back. once you’re feeling confident in your weight and your form, go up in increments of 5 lbs. until you’re working to failure again! 💪🏼 thanks for being here - this journey is demanding, physically and emotionally/mentally, but it helps that we’re doing it together. 🙏🏼💌 #upperbodyday #dumbbellworkouts #bulking #girlswholift #workoutsforwomen
