Have you ever heard about the colorful Dunkirk’s Carnival? 🎊 Starting from January to March, the people from Dunkirk are taking over the streets to celebrate France’s noisiest carnival with a colorful vibe.🎉 The culmination of the carnival takes place on the ‘Trois Joyeuses’ (Three Joyful Days) when the mayor throws herrings at the colorful crowd, on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday preceding Ash Wednesday. Dating back to 1676, the tradition came from the fishermen partying before heading to Iceland for 6 months.
