If only there was a magic snap of the fingers to make eczema go away. ✨ We prayed everyday that God would heal Emerson or give us the answers to help him. The days were so long and the nights were even longer trying to heal this sweet boy. There was so much trial and error. So much uncertainty. So much doubt in our path. We switched paths and learned hard lessons and took so many wrong turns along the way. We had to have so much faith that God would never give us something that we couldn’t handle. We just had to have faith and trust in the decisions we made. Each decision and path lead us to our healed sweet boy today. There is no magic one answer to heal eczema or skin issues. You always have to dig deeper and heal from within. Building foundational health along the way is just apart of the healing journey. Even that part can get rough and have its own trial and errors. Keep searching for your right team, keep working on building that foundational health. Know that you are strong and that you’re going to find your way through. She was constantly scratching Here are 4+ things that have helped 🌟 @eucerinus eczema relief with colloidal oatmeal. Colloidal oatmeal is an ingredient meant for treating dry, itchy skin. It “forms a protective barrier on your skin and helps retain moisture, calm down inflammation, and relieve the itch.”  Her skin loves it 🌟 @vaselinebrand 🌟 Triamcinolone- we use daily during severe flare-ups 🌟 Tacrolimus - We use on weekends, during flare-ups.. Dermatologist prescribed Other things we still do: 💧 Moisture, Moisture, Moisture *We keep baths short - 5 - 10 (on most days) * Path dry. Water escapes (↑ TEWL). Irritants penetrate. 2️⃣ Immune hyperreactivity A Th2-skewed response makes the skin overreact to triggers like fragrance, heat, stress, or allergens. Result: redness, itching, micro-vesicles, inflammation. 3️⃣ The itch–scratch loop Itch → scratching → barrier damage → more inflammation. That’s how it becomes chronic. Who’s more prone? Children, people with atopic history (asthma, allergies), filaggrin mutations, dry climates. How to calm it? Restore the barrier. It is officially #nationaleczemaweek and as with every year, I reflect on my journey with my eczema and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the biggest lesson I have learned in all of this is to love myself even when my skin is at its absolute worst. It’s taken years of work, but when my skin flares up, I refuse to let it get the best of me. I am still the same person, and still hold as much value to the world as I do when my skin is clear of eczema. 99% of the time (because let’s face it, sometimes it is just utterly shit and I need to have a day to wallow) I go about my life as I would whether it was there or not. I want to be a good role model to my girls that beauty is not defined by what you look like. In a world where appearance is portrayed as everything, I want them to see it is so much more than that. And hopefully, by continuing to share my story, I can do the same for others too.

Avoid potential allergens- allergic contact dermatitis is the biggest cause of eyelid dermatitis 2. Use fragrance free products like @officialvanicream or @vaselinebrand when going through a flare up, and avoid irritating products like those with retinol, vitamin C, or exfoliants 3. If the above doesn’t help, see a dermatologist who can discuss is patch testing is a good option for you 4. Prescription medications can be super helpful. Nummular eczema is often misdiagnosed as ringworm and treated incorrectly with antifungals when it is niether infectious nor contagious. Nummular eczema appears as coin shaped patches on the skin, is itchy, usually located on the trunk, legs and/or arms and may be more common in people with darker skin tones. Reducing shower temperature, limiting shower duration & using thick emollients (especially on damp skin) can help. Prescription steroids from your dermatologist can also be used for treatment. #eczema #eczematreatment #nummulareczema #ringworm
