Before using your builder you MUST apply a thin layer of rubber base gel in a scrubbing motion and then cure.
Then go in with your slip layer of builder, keeping it thin 👌🏼 Before curing pick up a small bead (you do not need lots of product to make a nail strong!) apply the bead up to the back third of the nail not touching the cuticle area, allowing the self leveling to work its magic there.
Then sweep your bead down the nail to cover 3/4 of the nail bed and sweep off toward the free edge.
Use a liner brush to go in and help the bead melt into its slip layer (I mean this builder is fantastic at self leveling so don't overthink this part! 👌🏼)
I always work on two nails at a time and then cure but always remember it's okay to work at your own pace 💕
Even though I find this builder a dream when it comes to self leveling I always refine and shape before any gel application.

STRefining builder gel… yes or no?
When working with builder gel overlays, little to no refining is often best if your structure has been placed correctly during application
Excessive filing after curing can move or remove the product you’ve carefully placed, which can affect the apex, balance and strength of the nail
If I do refine an overlay, I keep it very gentle and use the same controlled motion as prep:
• up one side
• across the centre
• then down the other side
Using light, feather pressure simply smooths the surface without removing the structure you've already created
For extensions, refining is usually needed because the focus is on perfecting the shape, balance and apex placement of the longer nail 💅
For infills, refining is also important as part of the service is rebalancing the apex as the nail grows out
Every technique has its place the key is understanding when and why to use it
My teaching philosophy has always been the same:

LEOmg the dual form I used there wasn’t enough room for the apex what do I do⁉️⁉️⁉️
If your dual form doesn’t have enough apex built in, the nail will come out too flat and too thin on the nail bed.
That means no structure = no strength.
And within a few days… it breaks.
So what do I do?
I go back in with builder gel and rebuild the apex properly. I add product exactly where the structure is missing and then file to create the perfect balance and finish.
Because structure isn’t optional — it’s what keeps the nail strong and long-lasting
