1️⃣ Look at meta-analyses and reviews. Understand the trend of scientific findings and how knowledge evolved. Don’t just rely on the newest studies.
2️⃣ If skilled and reputable trainers, experts, or scientists share a different view than yours, ask yourself why that is. Accept that we just might not know yet what “the best” solution is. Fake experts will leverage “not knowing” and promise quick fixes and miracles. Don’t fall for that.
3️⃣ Many behaviors we’re interested in as trainers are conserved across species. So look at what we know about to understand fundamental concepts of behavior
And above all, you don’t need a PhD to know that consistency and commitment to exercise, a healthy diet, and clear communication are incredibly powerful.

THIt’s only been the last year that we have been able to travel by plane without making an allergy announcement. Every time we fly I still advise of his allergy, that he is carrying an AAI and they don’t need to make an announcement etc. All flights until today have understood and happily agreed to not make an announcement. So, today I was surprised that @ryanair advised that to provide the safest flight for James they will still make the announcement and not serve peanuts! This really shows that the work we are all doing is making a difference to keep allergy sufferers safe in the skies ✈️

THLast weekend, I had an MCAS reaction that required my EpiPen and the new design threw my parents off in the middle of an emergency. Seconds matter when it comes to anaphylaxis, so here’s a quick breakdown of how to use the updated version:
1. Remove the blue safety cap (top)
2. Twist off the grey caps at the bottom to reveal the orange tip (needle end)
3. Orange to thigh—swing and firmly press into the outer thigh
4. Hold for 3 seconds
5. The orange tip will cover the needle when done
The old phrase still applies: Blue to the sky, orange to the thigh, but the steps are slightly different now.
